Sarcococca hookeriana 'Purple Gem'

An improved version of Sarcococca ?Purple Stem?, ?Purple Gem? has a much bushier, denser habit and mahogany stems that bear slender, glossy, deep green leaves which provide excellent evergreen colour all year round. Tiny, spidery white blooms with purple tips will decorate this shrub in winter, and although inconspicuous, their spicy, vanilla fragrance will certainly capture your attention and attract plenty of early pollinating insects. Shiny black berries will follow the flowers, adding further interest and providing a source of food for the birds.
