Amelanchier trees are a fantastic large tree that grows with an open, spreading habit that lends itself particularly well to hedging, especially in smaller gardens. Its colour changing foliage provides plenty of seasonal interest, opening up in bronze tones, moving onto warmer orange and reds by autumn months. Plant in a sunny border to really intensify the colour! Also known as Snowy Mespilus, beautiful spring blossom in white also emerges, with pink tinges. Performs best in slightly acidic soil.
