It swiftly develops into a spreading shrub with an open habit, smothered in large, deep green, velvet-like foliage. Hydrangea aspera ?Sargentiana? is a medium-sized shrub that produces a mass of large, elegant lacecap blooms from midsummer. White outer florets surround the small blue to purple inner florets to create a spectacular display.
