Acer rubrum 'Summer Red' is distinguished by its richly colourful foliage that continues from spring through to autumn.In spring, 3-5 lobed foliage emerges rich crimson on red stems before maturing to a handsome burgundy-green, whilst the young leaves continue to provide scarlet flashes throughout the summer. Clusters of small red flowers are followed by dark winged fruits adding extra seasonal appeal. As the seasons turn, the canopy transforms again with vivid yellow, orange and crimson tones that make this red maple a true autumn highlight.
