Product Description

The Blues Summit? More like the Blues Plummet, am I right? Devon Allman, Jimmy Hall, Larry McCray, and Sierra Green come together on this collaboration that promises a summit but ends up feeling more like a stumble down a flight of stairs. From the very first track, it's clear that these seasoned musicians know their way around a guitar lick or a soulful vocal run. But the problem lies in the lack of cohesion between the songs, resulting in a disjointed listening experience that leaves you feeling like you're at a musical buffet with no clear direction. Allman's gravelly voice clashes with Hall's smooth crooning, creating an odd tug-of-war for the listener's attention. McCray's blistering guitar solos are impressive, but they often feel out of place against the more laid-back vibes of the other tracks. And Green's vocals, while undeniably powerful, struggle to make a lasting impact in the whirlwind of mismatched styles. Overall, The Blues Summit falls short of its grand promises, leaving us feeling more confused than satisfied. It's a shame, really, as the talent on display here is undeniable. But sometimes, even the most experienced musicians can't quite find their groove when forced to share the spotlight. Stick to your solo projects, folks.
