John Sheppard: Gaude, Gaude, Gaude Maria

Review: As I popped in my copy of NETHSINGHACHOIR OF ST JOHN's latest album, "Sheppardchoral Worksin," I knew I was in for a wild ride. The eclectic mix of choral songs had me feeling like I was at a rowdy sing-along in a Tudor-era pub. The opening track, "Verbum Caro Factum Est," set the stage for what was to come - intricate harmonies, soaring vocals, and more Latin phrases than you can shake a stick at. The choir's rendition of Sheppard's classic works was nothing short of mesmerizing, with each voice adding its own unique flavour to the mix. One standout moment for me was the hauntingly beautiful rendition of "In manus tuas," which had me feeling like I was being transported back in time to a candlelit cathedral. The dynamic range of the choir was truly impressive, with some moments so quiet you could hear a pin drop, and others so powerful they could shake the rafters. Overall, "Sheppardchoral Worksin" is a must-listen for anyone who appreciates the artistry and skill of a well-trained choir.
