Product Description
Toto's 1987 album "Toto 99" is a wild, synth-infused ride through the world of 80s pop-rock excess. From the moment the first notes of "Pamela" hit your ears, you know you're in for a fun, cheesy treat. The band's signature blend of catchy hooks, smooth vocals, and killer guitar riffs is on full display here, and it's impossible not to get caught up in the infectious energy of tracks like "Stop Loving You" and "Anna." But it's not all sunshine and rainbows on "Toto 99." The band's attempts at social commentary fall flat on songs like "How Does It Feel," where they awkwardly try to tackle heavy topics like poverty and inequality without really saying anything meaningful. And let's not even get started on the album's cover of the Beatles' "While My Guitar Gently Weeps," which manages to somehow strip away all the emotion and soul of the original in favor of bland, overproduced schmaltz. Overall, "Toto 99" is a mixed bag. It's a fun listen if you're in the mood for some mindless 80s nostalgia, but don't expect any deep insights or groundbreaking musical moments. Just sit back, relax, and enjoy the ride - because at the end of the day, isn't that what Toto is all about?
