Limited to 100 copies only, transferred from the original master tapesThis fourth album differs enormously from the preceding one. The first track Liberator is a piece of funk jazz, the second track Easy Man039 is mainly fusion jazz, while Bakadyari Backyard is a combination of salsa, kaseko, fusion and funk. The closing track Woman On The Moon039 features funk and Latin. My solo here is played on alto flute, and again Glenn Gaddum Sr. plays some great Fender Rhodes and grand piano. He played all keyboards Piano, Hohner clavinet, Fender Rhodes, Moog and Roland synthesizers on this album, while I added the vocoder, vocals and percussion. The strong bottom side of this funky album was made by Eddy Veldman drums and Ivor Mitchell bass, who played together for a long time with Glenn Gaddum Sr. in their wonderful group Solat. The B side opens with Integration039, and only on this track my brother Clark Snijders is on drums and Jainul Ketwaru on tabla, with myself playing all other instruments. The title track of Quartz039 is a jazzy combination of fusion, funk, kaseko, jazzrock, and even reggae. The final track Mi Gron my native ground, Suriname, is slow kasekojazz.Ronald Snijders, 2024
