A Traditional Printing Baren That Can Be Used For Water-based Or Oil-based Inks. These Japanese Sosaku Barens Are Constructed In The Traditional Manner, With The Exception Of A Plastic Backing Disc, Or Ategawa. The Coiled Baren Core, Or Shin, Is Made From Twisted Paper And Lacquer. The Design Of The Shin Gives Different Printing Properties To The Baren. The Fine Coil Of The Sumi Baren Is Best Suited To Fine Detail And Lighter Papers, While The Larger Coil Of The Beta Baren Is Better For Areas Of Flat Colour And Heavier Papers.
