The Rembrandt pastels owe their very high coloured intensity and colour purity to the superior choice of pigments and the high pigment concentration. Only through a strict selection of the pigments used can the best combination of the characteristics be achieved. No harmful pigments are used.The colour numbers followed by '-5' are the pure pigment. The colour numbers which have a '-3' after them have some black mixed in. Higher numbers such as '-7', '8' and '-9' indicate that the pastels have white mixed in.
