Some colours will remain unaltered for up to 100 years! The lightfastness rating is based on the Blue Wool Scale, which measures the resistance of the colours when exposed to light.Colours with a ˜…˜…˜…˜…˜… or ˜…˜…˜…˜… rating can be used by professional artists. They will remain unaltered for decades. Colours with a ˜…˜…˜… rating are satisfactory but they will last longer if used in concentrated form, or if the work is protected by anti-UV glass or exhibited under subdued lighting. Colours with a ˜… and ˜…˜… rating are not suitable for works that are permanently on show.
