The course describes the characteristics of low-performing and high-performing teams and analyses why a low-performing is rarely successful, including Lencioni’s five dysfunctions of a low-performing team, reviewing how to build a high-performing team and key actions a leader can take to address the five dysfunctions. The course describes the eight key areas which must be addressed in order to achieve a high-performing team and reviews two models used to form diverse and stable teams: Tuckman’s Team Development Model and Belbin’s Team Role Model. The course also reviews the importance of effective communication with and between teams.
