Cest Ma Priere

MIKE BRANT's "C'est Ma Priere" is a nostalgic trip down memory lane, but instead of finding buried treasures, you stumble upon a dusty old box of clichés. The French-Israeli pop singer's 1971 album is a mishmash of melodramatic ballads and over-the-top production that feels more dated than a lava lamp in a '70s themed cocktail bar. From the very first track, "Laisse-moi t'aimer", it's clear that Brant's vocal delivery is as shaky as a chocolate mousse on a rollercoaster. His attempts at emoting fall flat, leaving the listener feeling more awkward than a dad dancing at a wedding.
