Product Description

SIXX:A.M. Vol.2: Prayers For The Blessed (Shm) The glam rock revivalists have returned with their second instalment of sonic prayers, but are they truly blessed or just pulling our leg warmers? From the first track, "Barbarians (Prayers For The Blessed)," you can tell that these guys have ditched the hairspray for some serious soul searching. Lead singer James Michael's vocals soar over the anthemic choruses like a bat out of hell, but unfortunately, the lyrics lack the depth to match his powerhouse delivery. However, tracks like "We Will Not Go Quietly" and "Let's Go" inject a much-needed dose of adrenaline into the mix, keeping the listener bopping along with their infectious hooks and killer riffs. The real standout moment of the album comes in the form of "Regret," a haunting acoustic ballad that showcases the band's vulnerable side. It's a welcome departure from their usual bombastic sound and proves that they have more than just one trick up their studded sleeves. Overall, SIXX:A.M. deliver a solid effort with Prayers For The Blessed, but it's clear that they're still searching for that elusive hit single to catapult them back into the limelight. Let's just hope they don't have to pray too hard to make it happen. Verdict: Blessedly bombastic, but lacking that extra spark to truly set them apart.
