Thankfully I live in Marske, it’s got some lovely bars and restaurants, most dog friendly too. I have to say, Base is our favourite place of them all. I’m not a massive eater so their lunch pizettas are ideal for me. The base is lovely and doughy and lovely toppings. Highly recommended the ham hock and mushroom or pulled beef. I really love that they do a Caesar salad side as I don’t eat chips much. The staff are excellent, especially Josh who is the loveliest. Do go, it’s excellent. Sadly everyone here knows that so I recommend booking.

1st timer. Visiting friends. I'm not a huge eater so I had a selection of small plates rather than a pizza. I'm a pub company owner/chef. 1 cook to another. The food was superb. The homemade croquettes, the meatballs infact everything I ate 5 star. The service, 5 star. The espresso martini, 6 stars ( I love an espresso martini) the atmosphere 5 stars. I could not fault this place. Dog friendly and great everything. What's not to like. Well done. Next time I'm here = more food with you.

Experienced a fabulous meal tonight celebrating the flavours Redcar and Cleveland have to offer. The pizza was absolutely unreal — perfectly crisp, loaded with flavour, and beautifully balanced. We ordered three small plates to share, and every one of them impressed, especially the meatballs — tender, rich, and bursting with savoury goodness. We honestly thought we’d be taking home leftovers, but it was all too good to resist — we polished off the lot! Everything was perfectly complemented by a pint of the local pale ale from Talking Tides, which rounded off the evening beautifully. An exceptional dining experience from start to finish. 10/10 — highly recommended!

Frequented this establishment at the weekend after many reviews. I’ve give it 4 stars because the vegan options were very good. Vegan cheeses garlic bread: one of the best vegan garlic breads I’ve had Normal pepperoni with mushroom: the sourdough is tremendous, I like a slightly firmer bottom where all the toppings don’t slide off personally but still tasty Vegan nduja: another fantastic vegan pizza Vegan vegetarian: looked lovely Chips: top top chips Chilli jam and pineapple dip: insane Pint of their base ale: light ale, nice session drink All in all a good pizza gaff, most pizzas run around £15 so not really cheap but probably about worth it.

Atmosphere was relaxed and comfortable. Food was delicious. Highly recommend the Dough Knots and garlic and herb sauce. Portion sizes were good. Even on the weekend special menu. Staff friendly and down to earth. Will definitely return if on the east coast.
