Visited here after a long day walking on 30/4/24. Second visit after calling in last summer . Quality is still as high as when they first opened, beautiful freshly cooked fish and chips, tasty crispy batter, moist thick cut cod and delicious brown chips. I was a piggy and ordered large, WOW, BIG PORTION, nearly defeated me, but I didn’t want to waste such delicious food so I persisted, just had enough room for the lovely homemade mushy peas. Definitely worth the trip over to Marske, will be visiting again for sure. Definitely worth supporting this great little independent local food business, owner is very knowledgeable and friendly. Efficient , friendly service and great food. 🌟🌟🌟🌟🌟
Went here on a random Tuesday, quiet day and absolutely no one else was in, however this didn’t stop Paul from going above and beyond to make us feel welcome, including making us cups of tea to help with the cold weather. Food was absolutely spot on, fresh to order, and I would definitely recommend. They also do a gluten free service on a Thursday which I think is very cool.
Me and hubby just love the fish and chips from this place. We’ve tried quite a few fish and chip shops since we moved here a couple of years ago, from Whitby to Saltburn but since we found Locker’s in Marske, there really is, in our opinion, no competition. Fresh fish, locally sourced potatoes - cooked to perfection. Worth a drive for us to know the food is consistently good. Yum yum yum!
We called here on the way to the beach. We bought fish and chips x3 peas and curry. What a massive disappointment, fish was full of grease and tasteless, chips was equally the same. We could not eat them even when we tried soaking the grease of the fish with a napkin. Waste of money all went in the bin apart from the peas.
First time at this chippy. Will definitely be returning. We had fish, chips and mushy peas. The fish (batter crisp and tasty) and the peas were hot and very tasty. Chips generally very good, apart from the odd one or two. We will certainly be back for a return visit. Thank you Locker's.
