We had a wonderful experience at The Bruce Arms! The food was delicious—generous portions, fresh ingredients, and a great selection of local ales. The Sunday roast was especially amazing, with perfectly cooked meat and all the trimmings. The staff were friendly, welcoming, and attentive, making us feel right at home. The pub itself has a cozy, traditional vibe with a charming beer garden for sunny days. It's very dog friendly. Located in the heart of Masham, it's a great spot for a meal, drinks, or even a weekend stay. Highly recommend for anyone visiting the area—we’ll definitely be back!
Great little pub. The welcome from the staff is as warm as the open fire. Great selection of beers. Food is served daily, (lunch and evening) and it is pretty good, and reasonably priced. I got the ham and cheese baguette, which is served with chips and salad. Hit the spot perfectly. Beer garden at the rear, and tables at the front. Dog friendly. Highly recommended.
It's not the best Sunday roast I have ever had. The large plate costs £15 and even though it was very big, it wasn't very good. I have tried 3 different meats. Pork, turkey, and beef. The pork didn't have a great taste. The beef was a bit tough. The turkey was very good. What I really didn't like was the mashed potatoes, which tasted gone off, and all the other vegetables were tasteless. The gravy was also very bland. I like the place inside and the draught beer selection, but I am very disappointed at the Sunday roast. Overall, for the price and the quality, I wouldn't recommend.
Absolute gem. Couldn't find our digs on 1st night. Went for a drink, it was the loveliest, friendliest bar we've ever been in. Thank you to Kate who found our digs and thank you to Gabbie for her lovely personality that clearly makes this place a 💎. We went back on our last night, after out car broke down and had a bad day, but walking back in this bar, we soon forgot about that and were laughing again. Can't wait until out next visit, love Janet and Phil xxxxxx
Such a friendly and welcoming gastropub, in the center of everything. Too bad I can't give more stars! The crew accommodated our group on a busy Sunday evening. They rearranged tables, move seating around, and voilá- we had a fabulous evening. Foods were delicious and abundant. Also, pet friendly. I would add extra stars to their regulars, who also added a touch of fun with their improvised karaoke. Great place to visit!
