Thorpe Cottage enjoys a quiet location situated just a few minutes walk from the Market Place and Masham's varied and interesting shops, galleries, cafes and traditional pubs as well as the town's two famous breweries Theakstons' and the Black Sheep.
We have worked hard to retain the traditional feel of the cottage with its stone fireplaces, beams and quirky sloping walls whilst ensuring guests have every comfort you need to be able to forget your worries as soon as you arrive so you can really begin to relax.

The cottage is beautifully furnished and has two bedrooms and sleeps up to four guests. Families are very welcome and we offer discounts for couples. It is very well-equipped and is a real home from home. In addition to the log burner and underfloor heating it is fully central-heated. The bathroom has both a bath and a shower. There is a rear sunny courtyard garden where you can sit out and enjoy a drink and read a book by the scented honeysuckle and flowering clematis.

Parking is available with spaces at the front of the cottage.

Guests have found it makes a great base for their holiday or short break. Attractions on our doorstep include a host of walks - by the river Burn and Ure, through farmland and moors; several nature reserves, Hackfall woods - a restored Victorian garden complete with stone follies and water features. A short drive away is the restored Wensleydale Railway with its mixture of steam and electric trains and vintage buses; Thorp Perrow Arboretum and mammal centre; Aerial Extreme; The Forbidden Corner; Lightwater Valley theme park and shopping village; Fountains Abbey and Deer Park; Middleham Castle; White Scar Caves and How Stean Gorge. The cathedral cities of Ripon and York and the spa town of Harrogate are also within easy reach as are the North York Moors and coast.
