Having lived in Leeds for the past 6 years I can safely say Meanwood Park has a place in my heart. It is a lovely green oasis just a stones throw from the bustling city. It is the perfect escape into nature and is usually a brilliant place to spot some absolutely adorable doggos. Stunning all year round, from autumn, to a cold winters frost, the budding spring or blooming summer its divine.
Lived in Leeds most of my life and have never been to Meanwood park until this Easter with my little ones. We love a nature walk and this one was great for them. There are a number or waterfalls/bodies of water. And a strong trail that went on for a while. We didn't get to explore it all but will certainly return to do this. We picked a good day to go weather wise. The ice cream van is ridiculously priced, but there is a lovely little café by the car park we will try next time. Lots of dog walking, children and a mixture of friendly people, ages, races which is always good. A couple of teens I had to speak to about how they speak to our younger children, but apart from that, a great visit.
A lovely open space. Plenty of open areas for children to play and a well maintained playground. The wooded area is a delight - lots of paths to explore. If you want a climbing challenge, then there are some good steep slopes to scramble up. The coffee shop near the car park on the south side is excellent.
Visited Meenwood Park a few times while someone I had dropped off was at Leeds LGI. Car park free and when I was there (Saturdays) just about big enough. Park pathways very muddy but no surprise considering how much rain had fallen. Interesting place which I'd like to learn more about when the weather improves.
A wonderful place and space for walking, exercising and breathing fresh air. I enjoyed this experience. 💜
