The staff were very friendly and efficient. Meadow was our server and she was excellent. Our food was exceptionally good. There are not many places that can cook a blue steak but George was our chef and it was amazing. The best I’ve had in ages. Both my friend and I really enjoyed our meal and the way we were looked after. I would highly recommend the Fox.
Visited for lunch on a Wednesday Food was delicious and we didn’t have to wait long after ordering. Lisa served us and she was so lovely and attentive. Really friendly but not overbearing (as some places and serving staff can be!) The inside is beautiful with a mix of comfy sofas and chairs, and then the dining area, which was spotless. The port and cheese mushroom starter and crab, prawn and chorizo linguine were sublime.
Went for a meal for my mum's birthday. I was surprised at how nice it was inside. Food was alright, had the surf and turf grill, nice prawns, it's head went flying when I tried to tear if off though 😅. Lovely chips too. Service was exceptional - we were served by Max who was prompt and welcoming. One issue was that my peppercorn sauce was forgotten initially, but we let a member of staff know and I got it very quickly. Thanks.
The Fox has been our local for a few years now, we visit with our young family and we visit with friends. We visit monthly (if not weekly 🤭) We come for food & drinks, Sunday lunch is a must! We visit for coffees in the week, great in the winter as cosy and great in the summer with the outdoor area. Always friendly service and the food is fab, a mix of light lunch options and bigger meals, pizzas & burgers etc, it really ticks all the boxes. A special mention to the manager James who always looks after us so well and Lisa who greets us with a smile and a friendly professional service.
My partner and I visited for a Sunday roast and opted for the Sharing Roast Experience for Two. At £52.95, it felt pricey, but the description sounded too tempting to pass up. Unfortunately, the experience fell short of expectations. After waiting nearly 30 minutes, our waitress returned to ask us to repeat our order due to a technical issue—the original order hadn’t been processed. We were offered complimentary olives while we waited, which was a nice gesture, and thankfully the food arrived soon after. However, when it did, it was cold and missing several advertised items (cauliflower cheese, stuffing, and apple sauce). The food itself was flavorful, but hard to enjoy when not served hot. The cauliflower cheese portion, when it arrived, was very small and lacked cheese. We also noticed other guests experiencing issues: one couple behind us complained and had money deducted from their bill, while another asked to move because the room was too cold. We were seated next to a cold radiator that could have been turned on, which didn’t help. On a positive note, the staff were exceptionally friendly and polite. They seemed genuinely embarrassed about the situation and handled complaints graciously. Unfortunately, we’re unlikely to return for food, though we would come back for drinks. Our bill came to £67 for two people, including the sharing roast and one drink each.
