We come to mexborough about once a month and always go to Tommy's bar. Always made welcome and descent beer prices.
Tommys bar is an old-school cabaret bar with bingo. Like your working mens club. There are three cabaret acts a night. Usually acts from the main strip. There is a separate bar with karaoke. The table service is excellent, or you can go to the bar yourself. Drinks are much cheaper than on the main strip. Tommys bar is located at the very top of "The Square" out of the way. Big shout out to the props on the street. This place is full despite its location. Yes, it is a bit scruffy looking and more suited to the older generation, but a great night can be had here no bother.
Pretty shocking really. The sole bar maid was on her phone with her back to the bar and I had to get her attention to get served. The decor is fairly recent although cheap and not completed in places. There wasn't a very wide selection of drinks. The only plus side for me was that it had a decent duke box. That's the only thing saving it from one star.

A random stop on our train trip. We found this great little bar. Drinks were of quality and cheaper than Wetherspoon. The bar man was lovely and the locals so friendly. I reccomend a visit ! I will come again
