I had an appointment with Dr. Newth today as I was concerned about problems I was experiencing with my left knee and leg. She had two trainee doctors with her. We dicussed my symptons, I had my leg and knee examined. I was very pleased with the guidance and excellent services I received. I have been a patient with Crown Street surgery for many years and I have always been impressed with the high quality of services they provide. I highly recommend them.
We visited today with my daughter from a telephone appointment this morning with the Dr. He requested to see her on the same day as he wanted a better/'closer look. My daughter was apprehensive about going in but within 5 minutes she was high fiving, laughing and participating with the doctors request.Dr Hanayaka was amazing with her and so patient. Seemless from arriving to seeing someone. Her certificate stands proudly on the mantle place for being a great patient.
Karen who is “apart of the prescription team” I had a very negative experience with her at this GP surgery. She was extremely rude, dismissive, and unprofessional when I tried to ask for help. Instead of offering support or basic courtesy, her attitude was abrupt and unkind, which made an already stressful situation worse. Reception staff are the first point of contact for patients, and it’s vital that they treat people with respect and compassion. Unfortunately, this was not the case here, and it has left me feeling very let down by the surgery.
Gp receptionists get a bad rep and I just want to send a huge thanks to Nicky I think her name is who went above and beyond to help me get over the fear of having a smear. I had nor had a smear for about q4 yrs due to past trauma and one of the nurses said well if you not going have one u need to sign a disclaimer .I asked Ricky for the disclaimer and instead of just giving me the form she spoke to me and said that instead of getting me to sign a form we should be supporting me through it. She said she would speak to the lady Dr and made me a telephone app for that afternoon to discuss with the Dr. The Dr advised diazepam before the smear and if that didn't do it she would refer me to hospital for gas and air. I had previously spoken to a lovely nurse practitioner named Heather and she put me at ease and said she would do it however I changed nurses. I asked the Dr if she could arrange for Heather to do it which she did, i also chose to have the diazepam Today I am very proud to say I had my smear done and it was over in seconds. A massive thankyou to Nicky , Heather and Dr Bryan that is how patient should be treated x.
Rude receptionists who come across as unwilling to help and lose samples and other documents handed in. GPs only work till 330pm so have to take time off work to see them. Im giving a 3 star because the practice nurses i have seen have both been great.
