Quirky. Hard to tell if the atmosphere is always like how I saw it but there was some quirky characters that night at The Priory. We were there on karaoke night so maybe that was the cause, or maybe one or two patrons had just drunk too much but it was quite off putting. The location is great and the bartender was fine but the goofy people were a problem. I think my favorite thing was the karaoke guy who was running things well despite the odd behavior of the crowd.
A great little pub on Micklegate in York. Friendly, welcoming staff and accessible due to the side entrance being step free and suitable for wheelchairs. Good to see that for not a huge place, there's also a disabled toilet facility. All Covid safety measures in place. Outdoor seating area is a good little sun trap too. Update: another visit, still as good. Not to busy, but too wet to use the suntrap!
We were in York for a military reunion, our first get together in 25 years. Unfortunately, a few bars wouldn’t allow us in. The Priory was excellent, staff were very friendly, service was exceptional and we were made to feel very welcome. Great attitude, staff and atmosphere, highly recommend.
Authentic pub,nice atmosphere, friendly landlord. Reasonable prices. Certainly visit again
Lovely bar staff, really made to feel welcome, the food was good value for money as was the drink
