I am currently doing my Access to Computing and it's been a wonderful experience so far. The faculty is just unbelievable, Mr Duncan, Mr Adel, Ms Onike and Mr Manuel all have been awesome. Mr Duncan is extremely kind and cooperative. He has always been available to guide us. A wonderful human being. Mr Manuel teaches Maths that makes every single question make sense. I'm grateful to all of my tutors specially Mr Duncan in supporting me through this course.
Middlesbrough College has been a really positive experience for me. I am currently studying the Access to HE Computer Science course and I am genuinely happy with my choice. I was away from education for a few years, so returning to study could have been challenging, but starting again with Middlesbrough College has been a great experience. The teachers from MC Digital, especially the Computer Science teachers, are amazing and clearly care about their students. They put a lot of effort into making sure everyone understands the content and feels supported throughout the course, which has really helped me rebuild my confidence in learning.
I am currently studying FD Computing at Middlesbrough College, and I can honestly say it has been one of the most positive, motivating, and life changing educational experiences I have had. The course is well structured, relevant, and practical, helping me to grow both academically and professionally. What truly makes this experience exceptional is the quality of teaching, support, and learning environment provided throughout the course. Duncan Skilton has been instrumental in my learning journey. He explains complex topics in a clear and understandable way, making new skills easy to grasp. Through his teaching I have developed strong foundations in HTML, CSS, JavaScript, databases, and core programming fundamentals. He has also introduced us to React, building modern front end skills in a structured and approachable way. Duncan has motivated me to begin learning AWS and Microsoft Azure SQL Server, supporting my goal of developing into a full stack developer and helping me see a clear pathway beyond the classroom. Adel Shaban has played a key role in my understanding of networking. He has broken down CCNA content in a clear and logical way, making a challenging subject far more accessible. Adel has taught core networking concepts including switches, binary, IP addressing, and network fundamentals, helping me build confidence and a strong understanding of how real world networks operate. Onikepo Amodu is extremely knowledgeable and has been central to my learning in project management. She has taught me how to plan, organise, and deliver projects effectively using industry relevant methodologies, helping me understand the importance of structure, documentation, and professional delivery. Robyn Dixon is incredibly approachable and supportive. She always makes time to listen, help, and offer guidance, creating a welcoming environment where students feel comfortable asking for support, particularly those with additional learning needs. All teaching staff treat students as individuals rather than numbers. This inclusive approach has been especially important to me as a student with dyslexia, as teaching is adapted where needed and concepts are explained clearly and patiently. As an older student returning to education, I have felt valued, respected, and inspired, which has completely changed my confidence and outlook. The facilities at Middlesbrough College are excellent. We have access to a dedicated Higher Education building not used by Level 3 courses, creating a focused and professional learning environment. Catering is subsidised, affordable, and good quality, which is particularly beneficial for self funding students. While my overall experience has been extremely positive, there are areas for improvement. Some computers would benefit from modern upgrades, and improved access to specialist software such as Microsoft SQL Server would better support computing students. More social spaces or activities for Higher Education students would also help build friendships and strengthen the student community. The inspiration provided by the teaching staff has extended into my family life. My children are now planning to join Middlesbrough College in the forthcoming September, having seen the positive impact this course has had on me. They are genuinely happy and proud to see their dad succeed, which speaks volumes about the environment the college creates. I am funding this course myself, and I can confidently say it has been worth the investment. Overall, I would rate Middlesbrough College 9 out of 10. The experience has been fantastic, and I am genuinely looking forward to taking my education to the next level.
Clare the one who teacher's art is also not doing a good job she is making some students upset and doesn't give any details one what to do when your in level 1 you would expect to get some help clare is not best suited in that corse she is horrible
Not allowed to wear a beanie in class because "hats and coats aren't allowed" but didn't tell anyone else off for wearing their coats. It is perverted favoritism and discrimination.
