INTERNATIONAL STUDENTS BEWARE!!!!! Teesside University is not focused on providing the finest education but rather on pulling in profits and resources from overseas to bulk up their coffers, standards are low and costs are high. Please read other reviews on this subject before considering Teesside University. Teesside uni is run more like a business than a serious educational establishment so the priority is always on how they get their funding not how they deliver education. Teesside University typical income is £221m annually with a large portion made up of overseas students. You can find a full run down and "glossary" of the student accommodation they now offer after a £21m investment via public information online. Slowly but surely eating up every ounce of space in the town centre, increasing rents and driving local people out of the areas they grew up in. Destroying communities and encouraging the council to build bike lanes and pedestrianised areas costing the tax payer millions for absolutely no other reason than profit for the university. Everything is now student accommodation or HMO's at £400 a month for single rooms, stretching students already low incomes even further. They have also forced the closure of many great little pubs and businesses in TS1 and around this area, particularly the Star which was an iconic local Boro pub. Everything around it is now being pedestrianised meaning you can never get anywhere decent to park that doesn’t cost a fortune, the council have also allowed private parking companies to administer land with the prime focus of ripping off people with sketchy parking fines from obscure cameras and poorly signed parking rules. in 2022-2023 Middlesbrough council did not turn down a single HMO application of the 650 they received. The town centre is being gentrified with Teesside University at the heart of it. There is no appreciation for local culture it's almost like Teesside Uni want to delete Middlesbrough culture entirely.

I embarked on my MSc journey at Teesside University in January 2024, and it truly lived up to its reputation as a vibrant hub of learning. The campus boasts an impressive array of facilities, including a remarkable library, state-of-the-art labs, stunning modern architecture, and beautifully landscaped grounds. The university's commitment to a healthy environment is evident in its no-smoking policy, and the lecture halls are designed to facilitate optimal learning. The student life program adds to the overall enriching experience. My personal favorite spot on campus is the library, where I spent countless hours studying and growing. (Added): I'm thrilled to share that I successfully completed my MSc in Civil and Structural Engineering on July 16th, marking a proud moment for me, my family, and friends. I'm excited for the future and look forward to applying the knowledge and skills I've gained to achieve great things.

One of the few uni to have all buildings on a single campus, has been vastly added to over the years and still has more new buildings planned for 2025. We did the recent open day and was hugely impressed.
