A proper Boro pub, attracts the locals which is always a good sign. Beer, wine, spirits and cocktails all good prices and good value for money. Has a phone charger for mobiles, sports, pool table and darts. The toilets are clean and the place is well run, staff absolutely spot on. USB sockets on the tables with their own TV's would be ideal for watching the sports with kids / families.

The attitude of the staff is indifferent on different days. Some of the staff are excellent and friendly and others act like they don't want to be there and take a while to get off their phone and serve you. Plus the free pint offer they had over Christmas was a waste of time and a con. Accumulated 4 free pints then got told I couldn't spend them during the England match, then tried to use it after it finished and then got told couldn't use them on the day of an England game. I don't believe that, just making the rules up as they go along. Then went in two days later to use them and got told offer had ran out 🤣🤣🤣 The staff probably had a few free pints when they finished. Terrible attitude at times but reasonable priced drinks, first ones out of taps horrible and shouldn't be served though. But generally a good pub to drink in despite strange looks from regulars but the sports they screen are excellent. Great for darts, football and horse racing!

Management need a desperate attitude adjustment. Witnessed customers being racist towards another customer, the staff did as much as bat an eyelid. Then proceed to throw out the ones sticking up for him! Do not give your custom to a place that cannot follow simple protocol for racial discrimination. This will be taken further up.

I enjoyed my visit here. Staff were friendly and even though it was early afternoon, it still had a good atmosphere. Recommended.

If you want to harken back to the basic pub complete with local eclectic characters, then this is for you! Complete with sour faced barmaid and dispassionate service, one drink should be enough!
