Great balcony view. Great atmosphere. Tom Meighan was brilliant!
I'm an old raver and The empire have brought back the Sugarshack a night I loved in my 20s giving us old gen a chance to relive our younger years. This is absolute Epic!
Recently went to a daytime event and had contacted venue office two weeks earlier to arrange accessibility access for my disability. I was assured security door staff would advised to allow me fast track access on the day. However, was met on the day by a very intimidating and abrasive individual who refused me access in jobs worth mode. I've since established he is the owner of the security company contracted to the Empire and is well known in the region for his "negative" attitude toward the public. His reason was because I was wearing inappropriate clothing. Despite explaining I had to wear this to reduce severe back pain following spinal surgery, he refused point blank. However, his colleague and another punter thankfully intervened and persuaded the venue management to allow me in. However no apology from the security boss. Secondly the dress code policy was not referenced anywhere on the ticketing, but buried deep down on FAQ section of the Empire website. Also no reference was made to this during my calls to them. Found experience very distressful and won't plan to return. Shane as the actual event was best part
Great venue with amazing sound and lighting. If you want a night out in Boro this is the place to be! Loads of rooms that play different music to so something for everyone.
