Second visit to Sambuca, it’s great value for money. Total cost was £45 for two people with drinks, food was good, fresh and filling. Vegetarian options are good with plenty of choice, good pint, great service. Will be back again. Meals shown are the halloumi burger with chips - drinks chardonnay which was a good quality wine. Other meal was the house "Sambuca" cheeseburger with home made chips, drink was Fosters served in a nice cold glass. Good pint.
I went to Sambuca in Middlesbrough yesterday for dinner and I’m absolutely thrilled with the experience! I ordered a steak with prawns and it was cooked to perfection – honestly one of the best I’ve ever had. Everything was delicious, the service was super quick, and the staff were so friendly and welcoming. The atmosphere was incredible too – warm, lively, and inviting. Such a fantastic place, I can’t wait to go back!
Unfortunately, the experience was quite disappointing. The staff seemed to lack basic hospitality training, and several issues came up throughout the meal. We ordered olives to start, but they were served in a bowl with nothing provided to pick them up. When we asked for something like toothpicks, we were told they didn’t have any. The staff member then suggested using our hands or if we would like a spoon? , and when I asked if that was really okay, she replied that she doesn’t eat olives, so she wouldn’t know. Not exactly reassuring. then when asked another staff she brought tooth picks. When the starters arrived, my partner had prawns cooked in a sauce. However, the sauce contained stray pieces of spaghetti, something we didn’t order and potentially dangerous for someone with allergies. When the mains were served, no cutlery was given after the starters had been cleared, so we had to ask again. It felt like basic service steps were being missed. Overall, the food might have been fine, but the lack of attention, training, and care from the staff really let the experience down.
Came here as a family to celebrate a 50th birthday and it certainly didn’t disappoint. Food was absolutely delicious and the staff were so attentive all the time, excellent service. We will be back - my only wish is that smaller portions were available for those with a smaller appetite but it won’t stop us returning- Thankyou Sambuca from the Davidson family 😊
One of the best restaurants along lynthorpe road. The chicken is succulent. The food is amazing. And the manager Kala, makes sure you feel like he knows you for years, very welcoming!!!! You have t try Sambuca Middlesbrough!
