Pepe's

Was looking forward to Pepe’s reopening as their food was always on point with the previous owners. However, my experience today was far from it. The food arrived after over an hour which wouldn’t be bad if it was nice or worth the wait. I ordered large chips and the portion was smaller than a Maccies small fries, they were stale tasted like they had been sat there for days (I would have been better going to Maccies). The burger and chicken and rice box were freezing. The rice had no flavour and the chicken was dry as a bone and burnt couldn’t even cut it with a knife. I called the shop and spoke to the new owner who wasn’t accepting what I was saying and just kept saying the food is made fresh. His attitude and customer service was appalling. This used to be one of my fav places but they’ve really let it down. I won’t be going back and I’d recommend you go else where. Not worth the price at all. Order number was 1991679 in case they try and claim this review was fake. Can’t see it lasting long if the food and their attitude stays like this. Won’t be going back.

Couldn't post a review on uber eats, so ill add one here, very glad to see pepes back in Middlesbrough, easily one of our best takeaways for something thats "different" that feels healthier than the usual. Best flavour and spice of their rice in any chicken shop in boro and the prices are decent enough. Since reopening ive ordered twice and had no issue with either order, honestly tastes better and has had more consistency than previously. 10/10 cant fault it. Keep up the good work. 💕

Great food and great service every time. The chicken is always fresh, juicy, and full of flavour, especially the piri piri seasoning. Portions are generous and the food is always hot when it arrives. Staff are friendly and efficient, and orders are prepared quickly even when it’s busy. One of the best places around for grilled chicken — highly recommended!
