Buyer Location | Middlesbrough Salary | £35,000 per annum + bonus scheme Schedule | Monday to Friday, 8:30am – 5:00pm Contract | Permanent, Full-Time The Opportunity We are currently recruiting for a Buyer to join a well-established and growing organisation in Middlesbrough . This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced procurement professional with a background in manufacturing or wholesale environments to play a key role in supporting supply chain operations and driving commercial performance. This is a dynamic position that offers the chance to work closely with suppliers, manage raw material sourcing, and contribute to continuous improvement within purchasing and supply chain processes. Key Responsibilities Source and procure raw materials and components in line with production and operational requirements Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships , negotiating pricing, terms, and contracts to ensure best value Monitor market trends and supplier performance to identify cost-saving opportunities and mitigate risks Work collaboratively with internal teams including supply chain, production, and logistics to ensure timely availability of materials Manage stock levels and inventory flow to support operational efficiency and minimise excess or shortages Raise and manage purchase orders, ensuring accurate data and timely delivery tracking Conduct supplier evaluations and audits, ensuring quality, reliability, and compliance standards are met Support continuous improvement initiatives across procurement and supply chain functions Resolve supply issues proactively to avoid disruption to production schedules Analyse purchasing data and generate reports to support decision-making and forecasting About You Proven experience in a Buyer or Purchasing role within manufacturing or wholesale environments (essential) Strong negotiation and supplier management skills Good understanding of supply chain processes and inventory management Commercially astute with the ability to identify cost efficiencies Excellent organisational and communication skills Ability to work independently and collaboratively within a fast-paced environment What's in it for you?
