Brilliant at times, but getting referred to other places can be a pain. Honestly, the doctors and nurses are lovely and helpful when booking my appointments, but sometimes I get referred to treatments other than at James Cook. At times, I've had to go to Darlington and Durham for an appointment. I have noted that at times I am unable to travel but still get referred. Also, they are extremely understaffed. I do appreciate everything they do, but sometimes it's a headache getting an appointment.

Awful experience all around. I’ve been at this doctor’s practice for as long as I can remember and dr Geldart even delivered me as a child. I’ve had an on going throat issue since the beginning of the year and have not been able to eat. Severe weight loss has followed (in their own words) and this doctor’s office has been completely incompetent. If you approach the staff with a serious medical concern don’t expect them to do their job. I finally got an appointment with a throat specialist which they proceeded to cancel less than a week later with no information on why after nearly a YEAR of reoccurring visits.

I have been a patient at Borough Road and Nunthorpe Surgery and I honestly feel neglected and dismissed. I had an appointment recently where the doctor was helpful and took a swab to investigate my symptoms — however, since handing that swab in I have heard nothing back. No results, no update, and no follow-up despite my ongoing issues. This has been part of a much bigger problem: over the last 6+ months I’ve been given conflicting information by different GPs, prescribed creams that made my condition worse, and left to deal with worsening pain and bleeding on my own. I’ve even struggled to get through to the Practice Manager or receive acknowledgment of the complaints I’ve raised by email and phone. For a practice that promises “patient-centred care” and “respect and support”, the lack of communication and follow-up is utterly unacceptable. Patients should not have to chase for basic results or be left in limbo when experiencing serious symptoms.

Would like to compliment the borough rd practice. I was seen today by Nicki Palmer Advanced Nurse Practitioner who diagnosed my problem, offered insight into my condition and prescribed me medication that will hopefully sort it out. I would also like to acknowledge Michelle on reception who was very friendly and helpful

very quick response over a small misunderstanding, directly and calmly addressed from Manager Lisa 👍 Clarified over the same old issues with NHS systems and appointment bookings (legacy systems and tech infrastructure which are not under their scope/power) but these group do care about feedback as well as the patients they serve.
