Newmedica Eye Health Clinic & Surgical Centre - Middlesbrough

My Mum was referred to Newmedica by her optician for cataract removal. The appointment for pre-assessment came through within three weeks and thanks to a cancellation, Mum had her right cataract removed today (the day after her pre-assessment). The care provided by Newmedica has been excellent from start to finish; both my Mum and I can’t thank them enough. The premises are spotless and each and every member of staff goes out of their way to help and place nervous people at ease. We will look forward to our next visit for the left cataract. Turned up for surgery walking into the unknown, all staff were very pleasant, friendly and put me at ease straight away. After initial checks and eyedrops, I was taken into the surgeon. Surgery lasted approximately 10/12 minutes. No problems whatsoever. (HIGHLY RECOMMENDED)

I went to Newmedica last Monday for a consultation and ended up having my Cataract done on the day due to a cancellation. Couldn't thank them enough. Every person I seen made feel comfortable with what I was getting done. Keep up the good work

This clinic is already taking care of me for suspected glaucoma, so when after four changes in my eye prescription over 12 months, my optician referred me regarding having cataracts in both eyes. Once I received my initial consultation appointment, where I was thoroughly examined and all options and procedures were discussed, I decided to go ahead. On the day of surgery I was really anxious to the point of feeling sick. However from the moment I arrived, I couldn't have been taken care of any better. The receptionist, the nurses and the surgeon, everyone did their very best to calm me ... to the point I could have had a nurse holding my hand during the procedure if I wanted. After the procedure my aftercare was fully explained, and I was encouraged to contact them if I had any concerns or questions. The follow up welfare call the next day was appreciated. I'm due to get my other eye done in a few weeks. Obviously only time will tell as to the full outcome of both surgeries, but I have no hesitation in fully recommending this clinic. Everyone is friendly, understanding, helpful, knowledgeable and definitely put the patient first. In my experience 5* service always

Absolutely out of this world from the moment you enter to when you finish , everyone is so friendly and helpful even through surgery the surgeon and staff are brilliant keeping you relaxed all the time , if any one needs there eyes done this is definitely the place , well done you all went the extra mile Thank you
