Its not too bad! No worse than any other pharmacy, really! What people are moaning about..ya get the same in any other chemist! I'll refer to the old saying...if ya don't like it...go else where!!!
The WORST pharmacy in the history of any pharmacy. The whole ‘well’ brand is clearly unwell. Each one of their pharmacy has a systematic issue. It is common practice to fob of customers and not give prescriptions in a timely manner. I’m not talking hours, I’m talking days and in some cases a week. Management is clearly to blame for inadequately training staff. Staff shouldn’t be put in a position where they don’t have a clue what they are doing. Imagine my shock when my mother cancer medication was not available for collection. She kept going daily and each time she was told to come the next day. This went on for nearly a week. When she finally got the medication, on the label it clearly was dated days prior. I for the life of me cannot understand why any patient would reattend this pharmacy for future prescriptions. Multiple patients appear to have this issue - it has been witnessed. I’m a healthcare professional and I don’t understand how the well brand have been allowed to get away with poor practice. Avoid all well pharmacy branches.
Since this Pharmacy has changed to Wells the delivery service has really suffered. They are virtually impossible to contact by telephone, extremely disappointed. The staff willingly admit that they do not answer the phone due to shortage of staff ! Someone (anyone ?) in authority needs to take a serious look at the service being provided. I will be transferring to a different Pharmacy.
Had an emergency prescription sent from Linthorpe surgery. This isnt my regular pharmacy. When I informed the lady behind the counter of this, she said quite bluntly that I won't be on her system. I asked if she'd check, and using my name and dob she confirmed that my info was on there. I asked if my script had been sent over and rather than check, she informed me that it would be 24 hours before it could be issued - she didn't even know what the items were yet - when I asked why so long she just said "There's a backlog'. I then asked if the script could be returned to the spine so that it could be sent another pharmacy. She refused saying that she would need my NHS Number to do this. Too ill to argue, I walked back to the doctors who resent it to Boots in the Village. Don't use this pharmacy. Bad attitude from the lady in question, terrible service and an unacceptable (24 hr) delay in issuing a couple of boxes of tablets. Topped off with the NHS number palaver. The two receptionists in the surgery had never heard of anything like it when I returned to get it sorted. Thanks to them for sorting it, and sending it to Boots I'll be emailing this to Well Head Office too, for what its worth. It seems they need to invest in additional training for their staff. Certainly one of them.
My doctor sent a prescription to Wells on 21st Aug so today 30th Aug I tried calling Wells to see what had happened to my prescription and after 17 attempts to contact them the phone finally got answered. I was informed that it would be at least 7 working days to fill my prescription therefore it is not available until sometime next week. This never happened when Hunters ran the pharmacy but it appears prompt service went along with Hunters.
