The Post Office has gone down hill, they now do not clean the shop front, which floods when it rains nor can they be asked cleaning the Grafati on the building of shutters. The lady os nice serving, but wish it was presentable like it use to be. Take pride in your business and the area might be knowing for some good establish businesses.

Leaving this review reluctantly because the staff are actually very pleasant and accommodating, but this is not the issue with this post office it's simply far too slow, probably the slowest post office in Middlesbrough because it is seriously under staffed and under experienced which ultimately gives a poor customer service. I have used this post office for the best part of a decade mainly for sending parcels of which it used to be a daily visit for me with my business spending approx £5k+ a year here, but not no more, I do still use it but if I look through the door and see a massive queue I don't bother, I really have not got 20+ minutes to wait in a queue, under the previous management this shop ran like clockwork and had two very quick counter staff now it is nearly always just one lady, she's very pleasant and double checks everything to be thorough but is simply overwhelmed with the demands of such a busy central location and too slow to deal with all the additional things like money transfers which if you go in the post office will know is a pretty much daily thing. Using this post office for so long now it's noteworthy how many other regular users I don't see in there anymore, a lot of the regulars simply go elsewhere with their parcels, many eBayers who would have 20-30 parcels pretty much every other day... never see them anymore because it's often quicker to drive to another PO which I now often do myself, I can only imagine the post office is not making anything like the money it used to, a simple solution would be to employ a more experienced staff member to help out the lady, it's too much for her on her own and I do actually feel a bit bad for her. This would be a 1 star review if the staff weren't so pleasant, management take note; you're losing a lot of customers!

I had a large bundle of invitations to post yesterday and wanted them to have stamps, not be franked. The counter assistant understood that and (kindly?) said she would put stamps on for me, though I would happily have stood to one side and stuck them on myself. She showed me the stamps and having paid I left her to do it, hopeful that all would be well. I have heard that at least one of the invitations has arrived so hopefully all is well. Thank you for being helpful.

This review isn't about the shop but the post office only - I would think twice before using it. I went to the post office just a few minutes ago to dispatch a small parcel that weighs about 650g and was told that 48h tracked costs £15, but 24h tracked guaranteed delivery costs "only" £9something. Unable to believe that, I went back home, headed over to royalmail.co.uk, selected the dimensions/weight of my small parcel et voila, 24h tracked costs £3.99, 48h tracked costs £3.29. Please, if you are in any way tech savvy, stay away from this scammy place and book parcel collection from home with Royal Mail for the prices I mentioned above instead, this is absolutely unreal. When I voiced doubt towards the seller in the store, he said that "the prices have been like this since last year April", yeah nah bestie, you are making these prices up.

My son went in to buy a 2nd class stamp and was refused one at the post office counter. He was told to go to front of the shop and buy one from that counter, Where he was told the price is £1 not the 60something pence it should have been. My husband went in to clarify this as thought it might of just been a mistake but no he got over charged too. Used to be a lovely Post Office until it got taken over, now service is so slow I could probably hand deliver the letter or package quicker. Use the one on Chipchase Road now much quicker and friendlier staff.
