Absolutely horrendous store. Ive moved here from london, and decided to go looking for a few goods. I sadly entered this shop and made a £200 purchase on a dinner table on a Friday. I was served by a arrogant staff named Aaron, who booked my delivery for the monday coming with a charge of £15. I left for my trip back to london and left someone at the property to take the collection on. However i was left with several miscalls who would NOT take back my call or respond to my texts. I called the store back to get an update to the member waiting for the collection could travel once received. The call was answered again by arrogant Arron who said sorry mate they were too busy picking up donated items. And gave me no choice but to come to store for a refund when the manager is back OR pay an additional £15 for another company delivering as the one who was booked is now too busy. So they took payment. Didn’t provide what i paid for. Robbing me for more money and then having the cheek to say sorry mate cant do nothing. I will for sure be escalating this disgusting store with immense lack of customer service in a ‘CHARITY’ store.

One of my favorite charity shops in boro. Bric and furniture can always be picked up at great prices (clothing can too, if more occasionally. But admittedly I'm more of a vintage and antique homeware fanatic - so seldom browse the clothes). Prices for bric and furniture are generally more reasonable than in neighboring shops. Cleaner and more organised, too. I also appreciate that you don't typically see their van drivers moving through the shop floor with large items during opening hours. And if on the occasion they do, there is ample floor space to help customers safely avoid them. Neighboring shops like Farplace for example are much more cramped by comparison (despite having a larger floor than YMCA - as well as stock rooms, YMCA in captain Cook Square meanwhile doesn't even have a back room), and it can be a little hazardous when you need to move out of their delivery drivers ways suddenly. I appreciate that, despite them having so much less space - YMCA seem more aware of keeping the shop enviroment safer for staff and customers alike. You can step back without worrying about tripping on something. Staff have generally also always been nice to me through the years. They always offer to wrap fragile items up, or have kindly held items for me to collect later (again, despite their limited storage capacity - they're more accomodating than most). They're also keen to collect if you have a lot to donate to them (the only reason I've gone for 4 stars is because they once collected from my home a day early...but it was fine! Luckily we were in and the stuff was almost ready to go anyway. That collection was a few years back, though. That was perhaps a one off and probably doesn't happen a lot - but, I could see it potentially being an issue for someone else if it happened again).

Please update your closure time to 1700. Can't travel to get there 17:05 and you tell me you're closed while it says 17:30 for closing

I bought an electric juicer and as I did it before and they said they check everything before selling I was assure that i don't need to ask again. So I didn't and that was my mistake. But when I got to the shop to ask if they could repair a woman inside told me that you need to have physical receipt. I already showed them I have bank receipt but not the physical she said they couldn't do anything and very rude told me you can go fix it yourself. Then she started saying you broke it and there is something spilling on it. I told her to keep it and keep the money. It is not a charity. Please stop making them rude. I'm not poor and that money won't make me rich but I buy from charity to help people. This behaviour makes me feel I'm doing a wrong thing. I would not buy from this place and I recommend to everyone to do the same. You could buy all of those with better price and quality from legit shops and charity would just make you feel wrong with people behaving like this.
