A gorgeous Art Deco style cinema. I went with my family to see Zootopia 2. They have 2 screens, and an accessibility lift, to get to the first floor. There are plenty of toilets and a generous size disabled toilet too. They have an amazing range of drinks, sweets and popcorn. For around £3 a ticket, you should definitely go and check it out.
First time we had been and we were in screen 2. We had the comfy sofas at the back and we were the first to go in. The sofa next to us had old drinks and popcorn boxes on the floor so it was clear that it hadn’t been cleaned after the previous showing. The screen looked quite small overall and I understand that they have to have fire exit signs lit up inside but they’re so bright that it made the screen look dull and stops the immersion because it was so distracting. On the positive side, the ceiling was really low which meant the speakers were right above us and the film sounded great. I didn’t like the popcorn and prefer Showcase but that’s down to personal preference. I probably won’t go again.
I was really hoping for this to be good but the popcorn was absolutely vile, inedible. Walked into the room towards our sofa seats and the entire row was dirty after last viewing, there was no one else there but us until the film started but nothing was tidied up after previous film. When the film has started another couple walked in and sat in front of us, average height man and his head was covering the middle of the screen… not sure how seats can be so badly design in a cinema so thankfully it was so quiet we could move to another seat easily. Also cinema tickets are considerably cheaper if you buy in person than online…
Great cinema, didn't realise it was ever there. The 3 of us went to watch the new wicked movie, great sound and video quality but the whole venue was terrific. Really nice environment and the staff were brilliant. Will absolutely go back.
It's a really nicely decorated venue and the woman behind the counter was really lovely. However, the entirety of the film we watched (The Running Man) was interrupted by flickering lights, and I dont mean flickering lights here and there, the entire ceiling has spotlights that would turn off and on again repeatedly, it was really distracting. We eventually had to let staff know and we were told that electricians had been previously that day... but they clearly hadn't fixed it. We were offered something free from behind the counter for our inconvenience, this was fine until I've just read a review from 3 months ago talking about the exact same lighting issue! Fix your lighting, it makes films totally unwatchable! Another thing, the popcorn was genuinely inedible, it had the texture of polystyrene and tasted like old oil and somehow has the smell of wall paint? Not a clue how it was so bad, but we binned the lot. We wouldn't go back unfortunately. The one star is dedicated to the lovely staff member who seemed embarrassed to have to deal with the whole thing alone 🤣.
