The White House

Excellent small cottage for 2 people. Very clean and had what we needed for a comfortable few days Touring the local area. Hot tub was perfect. Hosts are on hand but very respectful of privacy and after our initial meeting on first day, where we shared lots of valuable local knowledge, they left us to enjoy our break away. Lovely position in the village, walking a very short walking distance to the local, and off-road parking is provided, right at the door to the cottage. Would highly recommend. NB please note the owners point on accommodation, and that there are stairs up to the accommodation.

We stopped at The White House 21/05/18 - 25/05/18, We decided to stop here as it was a great base to explore the Yorkshire Wolds & coastline. We found the cottage via Sykes Cottages, and promptly placed a deposit to secure the property. The owner Guy called the day before we were due to arrive to confirm key exchange. This extremely courteous, and left us with a positive outlook for whats to come. We arrived on the Monday to an extremely clean and welcoming accommodation, it felt clean and fresh and we were given some shortbread, white wine & even a dog chew for our dog. A very nice touch. The property itself is equipped with pretty much everything you would need for food prep (except scissors!) It even had a cheese grater. The property itself is on the 1st floor of what is rumoured to be the old doctors surgery of the village, this might prove troublesome for any disabled guests. One small downside to this, is no direct access to a garden, which meant we had to plan to take the dog for toilet breaks, not a deal breaker by any stretch, but worth considering. The hot-tub area is a small walk from the property, but its gated and private, so you can take your dog with you and leave them with a bone while you relax. All in all, a great stay I would recommend to a friend.

A fantastic place to stay! Cottage was lovely there was a complimentary bottle of wine and biscuits on arrival. The hotub was so relaxing and the location was so peaceful and quiet. Great local amenities you have to try! Will definitely be returning. Thank you again for our stay it was perfect.

Lovely cosy atmosphere and had everything we needed for a weekend away. Hot tub in garden what more could you want! Highly recommend.
