My daughter didn't like the burger but she is very fussy. Ordered fish gujouns instead, which came very promptly,No charge for the burger either. Everything was perfect food,ambience, staff,value for money. Definitely be going back for more. 👍🏽🥩🔥
Just had a superb meal at the Whitegate, they have done a lovely renovation job, the food and service was excellent 👌👌
We called in @5.30pm on way home having previously visited before the renovations. The decor and ambience are much superior now, however we were somewhat disappointed with our chosen menu. We had Fish and Chips with minted peas---the peas were hard and dry and seemed to have been warmed up from lunchtime and the chunky chips were not fluffy inside and crispy outside as we would have normally expected. The fish was ok and the batter nice and crispy . My wife is tee-total and had a still orange drink and she had to ask for more cordial as the first time it was tasteless. Beer was excellent. All -in-all we were disappointed with the price and quality. Had the food been prepared as we had expected ,then we could have enjoyed our visit. My wife also said that the disabled toilet could do with an update.
I almost feel like it want to gate keep this to guarantee availability for future reservations but that’s not helpful for what I hope to be a very successful local business. It was fantastic!!! The newly refurbished White gate in Mirfield. We called in on Saturday for a quick drink and the refurbishment is looks amazing. Lovely decor, warm and friendly welcome. Very impressed. We made a reservation for the following day in the restaurant. We all opted for the Sunday roast. 2 adults, 2 children. The children opted for roast chicken - which was delicious. My husband and I both went for the beef with sides of pigs in blankets. The food was perfect with generous fresh vegetables, roast and mash potatoes. The staff were polite and friendly and very attentive despite being very busy. Ash and his team are knocking it out of the park with their great service and the new look just complements their service. We all opted for the Sunday roast but the menu offers lots of alternatives. Looking forward to our next visit.
On the whole a really good experience. Fabulous decor, fantastic food, Turkey dinner, Steak pie and Bacon steak meals, all were really good. Only slight gripe which all three of us picked up on was that we had to ask at the bar for further drinks. It would have been nice to have been served at the table. It won’t deter us from visiting again very soon. We’ll recommend.
