Found a piece of what looks to be brown glass/hard plastic in my sandwich and the special was supposed to be pigs in blankets. Ran out of chicken and was just sausage with a bit of bacon thrown in. Really gone down hill this place.
Maughans catered for my 80th birthday. The food was excellent and plentiful- suited meat eaters and vegetarians. Plenty of choice and an abundance of food. I thoroughly recommend this bakery. Polite delivery and on time. Food came in display trays. Sandwiches and savouries.
Not great. Had chicken mayo salad and the filling was disgusting, the cheapest pre-made rubbish from a plastic tub. The mayo tasted like vinegar, it was awful. Cheese and onion pasty was equally bad. Plastic, fake cheese and again, clearly bought in, pre-made cheapest option, from what claims to be a bakery. Real bakeries makes their own pasties. Service wasn't great, took a while to get served, as did most people who came in the shop. Most of them were elderly locals just buying bread and teacakes rather than sandwiches. I'm not surprised. Won't be going again.
This order was meant to be a egg mayo salad, and one hot turkey WITH pigs in blankets, gravy & apple sauce As a vegetarian I was then unable to eat what's been given as didn't notice until got home & the shop had the closed. How difficult is it to take 2 sandwich orders down correctly?
Lovely pasties pies sausage rolls ect ! Had a great ham salad on brown the woman serving was friendly but I don't normally buy sarnies for work as I bring my own but thought I'd treat myself! Can't believe how much stuff has gone up !! 7 quid for a ham salad and a cornish pasty ! Like I said it was lush but 7 pounds! What is the world coming too 🤔
