I attended on 21/07/25 for my daughter’s birthday lunch. We arrived early for our booking and were met with a friendly warm welcome, we were able to sit outside and enjoy the weather and views. Upon ordering the staff were attentive and friendly. The food was absolutely amazing and included fresh produce, even down to the fresh mint served with my chocolate dessert. The atmosphere was excellent and between courses it was good to be able to move around and go outside and it was not rushed at all. It was noticed on arrival that it was my daughters birthday (she was wearing a birthday badge) and was wished happy birthday, when it came to ordering dessert they went out of their way (unbeknown to us) and made her a dessert delivered on a board with birthday greetings, this was so thoughtful and nice. Would like to say a big thank you to the staff team on duty for such a lovely experience and to the chef for the excellent food and presentation. This is one place I will highly recommend and will be visiting again.

Really decent pub food presented in a lovely way, the staff were really helpful and friendly. There are very nice views of the surrounding countryside. Outside seating is available also. I had the pea falafel and lentil Shepard's pie which I thoroughly enjoyed. My girlfriend had the lamb which she said was cooked with care and really liked it. Would recommend. Also came here years ago and the standards have not slipped.

Enjoyed a lovely Christmas meal with family for my birthday the Friday before Christmas. It was superb! Beautifully decorated, clean plates all round. The staff were friendly and attentive despite having a full house. An extra surprise there was entertainment from female singer and just as we were leaving a silver band ensemble arrived - very festive! We’ve never been let down at The Hare and Hounds . Thank you.

Very poor experience on Christmas Day. I was debating whether to leave a review because I appreciate that staff gave up their time on Christmas Day. Also, I was not expecting fine dining due to the size and business of the venue. However £90 each is a lot to spend and food should at least have been edible. We waited 2 hours for mains despite having paid and pre ordered beforehand. Two meals were cold and the veggie option had completely raw pastry. crumble desert was barely there , about 1cm deep. For all the hours we were waiting we were only offered drinks when we first sat down at our table. Two of the drinks we tried to order were unavailable. We were not asked about the food despite us having to leave most of it. If there were difficulties behind the scenes we should have been informed. Sorry to be so negative but this was meant to be a treat for an elderly relative and it was not.a positive experience at all. I know there are lots of good reviews but this will be our first and last visit
