Excellent local boozer! The bar lady coped well with an influx of foreign visitors, wanting to change the TV chanel to watch the rugby (a day early!), using the disabled access, trying to work out how to get the pool table to take our money (it wasn't switched on yet), various drink requests etc. Well done. Would visit again!
We are locals of the shoulder but due to our working patterns don't get a chance to eat here but we did a couple of weeks ago when we finished early so took the opportunity to sample the sizzler menu. My wife had the 20oz mega mixed grill sizzler & I opted for the festive pigs in blankets sizzler. Both came freshly cooked sizzling away on a hot skillet served on roasted peppers & onions with a tortilla wrap, corn cobette & amazing homemade chips it’s certainly not for the faint hearted. My wife looked like she had over done it with her choice and was going to ask to take some home but it was too good not to finish & I helped her polish it off. Stuffed doesn’t come close it’s proper fresh cooked food & for the price extremely generous portions & we absolutely recommend you give it a try. The added bonus is a friendly warm welcoming local with a good selection of drinks to boot.
Quiz night is like going back to school days. Don't do this. Don't do that. The landlady is so engrossed in her own quiz night, she can't be bothered to serve. Our group have spent good money in here tonight and it's been a terrible experience. Finger clicking to stop someone leaning on a pool table is an all time low. Avoid!
It’s our local and we always have a good time. Last night though we decided to have some food. We chose the mixed grill and it was fantastic. Well cooked and plentiful. Will definitely try other things on the menu and certainly recommend it to others.
The best breakfast in Mirfield, I have also had the burgers and pizza and they are amazing. Nothing is too much trouble. Top pub with a warm welcome.
