Visited this store during the recent sales. Most items are very expensive even with the discounts. However they do have some really nice items. From lights, mirrors to furniture.

Be very careful if you buy anything from Speights. One of the items we purchased was broken but when we asked for a refund we were told we couldn't have one as it was sold as seen even though we didn't have change to check it over. Very poor customer service

Good selection of lighting and very helpful. For example, we didn't quite see what we were looking for, but the shopkeeper brought out a few catalogues for us to choose from based on a vague description of what I was looking for. Price was lower than quoted by another local lighting shop too. Fitting was good though it was difficult to set up a time/date, but overall we were re (and still aere) very happy with our lights.

I visited the store this afternoon. I was extremely disappointed with the shop keepers customer service skills! After visiting 6 stores in total within the Huddersfield, Mirfield & Dewsbury area I can say that this stores customer service skills were absolutely appalling! I felt the man in charge of the shop was not tactful in his communication. He asked if we required any support. (That's the only boy of the customer service that I offer 1 star for!) When I asked if he could write up a quote he said he doesn't do quotes!? I asked for a price, he said he would not put it in writing? I asked if he had a particular light in gold. His response "No I don't! I'm not going to buy more lights when I have so many in store already!!" Just a simple yes/no reply would have been sufficient. Last but not least! Despite having 75% sale signs all over his outer windows, this was not accurate! Some things were 25% off & APPARENTLY everything I asked about wasn't in the sale yet??? I was told repeatedly that "everything must go due to closing down for refurbishment. However, I was told to continue to come back to see if what I asked about was going to be in the sale. His whole mannerism was disgusting & unacceptable! I shall under no circumstances part with my money as a consumer/customer with a shop keeper that has next to no customer service skills. I would rather travel further & even pay more for more friendly customer service. I would NEVER recommend anyone to go here & experience the appalling customer service that myself & my disabled mother endured today! Naheed.

I have tried to purchase from Speights for the past couple of months. (The store is closed due to covid so dealing with head office). They never respond to my emails when I have chased them via phone they say they will call me back and don't. Rude and abrupt on the phone.
