Bobbed in on Thursday as too tired to cook, quick service, I enjoyed my steak and mushrooms and my hubby enjoyed his burger. We got served quickly and were back home within an hour, exactly what we needed after a busy day.
Awful standard of meal the chef's really do need more training. Used to be a really lovely pub but it's really gone downhill. Ordered the mixed grill, the steak was all fat and gristle, the chicken was rock hard and the gammon steak was like a brick. I ended up having a sausage, and a few fries. Partner had the burger and this was clvery overdone also causing her to leave it and go hungry also. To the staff members credit she wiped the bill but all 3 of us left hungry. After over an hour waiting for the food Also a dog friendly rule should mean well behaved dogs only, not aggressive dogs which fight with others in the pub. Not good atmosphere. Also witnessed a member of staff possibly the shift supervisor petting the dogs and then go straight into the kitchen to run food. Sorry to say, we won't be returning. UPDATE AFTER BEING CALLED A LIAR BY WHAT MUST BE THE MANAGER: - We were offered a replacement gammon, which was cancelled by your member of staff off her own back, it never actually got to the table as ahe cancelled it before we had chance. - I assume you were the one that was petting the dogs and not in uniform, which can be the only reason for publically calling your customers liars. - We were told by your member of staff Lauren that she was wiping the drinks off the bill before leaving, we did not refuse anything. And she was very good. - More training is clearly needed for you and the chef.

The atmosphere in the pub is so cozy and relaxing. The staff was busy but still attentive and make me and my family feel comfortable and welcome. And for the food was absolute top notch, I had steak that was cooked exactly to my preference, the peppercorn sauce was to die for and the mushrooms were fool of taste so every bite was delight.
My friend and I, living locally, fancied a nice lunch and went to the Darcy and were not disappointed. It was busy but we got a good table and were warned there would be a wait. No problem. Enjoyed a good ale, 3 swords, and a nice glass of wine. Vikki looked after us and brought our tasty food with a smile and good humour and made sure we had everything we needed. Weβll be back soon.
