Visited Lans coffee today whilst on a short stay in Leeds. A very cosy atmosphere, with friendly staff, great coffee and funky decor. I enjoyed a lovely flat white and a very tasty vegan sandwich which had the most amazing bread I think I’ve ever had!
The coffee was really good, nice and bold flavour. The croissant was crispy and delicious
Went there for coffee and cake today. I asked for coffee in a takeaway cup although I would eat in. The server seemed unable to retain this information and was distracted as she had more than one customer. She also seemed more interested in the pets than people. When she finally brought my coffee out, it was in a non takeaway cup. When I asked again for a takeaway cup, she seemed put out but did it anyway. The coffee itself was good but it should be at that price. Also seems the way the owner replies to dissatisfied customers on reviews is arrogant. You should always take on board feedback with humility, even when your customers are wrong or annoying. Too many businesses these days think they can treat their customers with disrespect. Remember, it's people who pay for coffees, not pets. Update: I was not on the phone, not demanding and I don't discriminate against anyone. As a local business owner myself, I don't support local businesses who treat their customers with contempt. My review is not invalid. And if you don't understand that, you will fail as a business. I'd given you two stars but now downgrading to 1 based on the condescending and ill informed reply from the owner.
The latte was good, but the bacon toastie was not. The bacon was only half cooked, and I could only eat half of it. I should have stopped after one bite, I was nauseous afterwards. I really wanted to like it, but not a good experience for me.
This is one of the most friendly and relaxed coffee shops I have ever had the pleasure of visiting. Noreen (proprietor) is absolutely fantastic, she’ll always go out of her way to help you and she always takes time to have a chat with you. Her food is top notch, we love the coffee and especially the homemade scones and toasties!!
