Lovely food and great service. We had the eggs residence, triple bacon smash burger and the pancake stack. Everything was so flavoursome and reasonably priced. Staff are friendly and food came out quick! 10/10 would definitely recommend.
I booked this restaurant for a group of new mums to meet up. After a few emails back and forth regarding space for prams, we were able to book lunch for seven adults (with young, non-eating, babies) and three prams. Sadly we had two mums drop out unwell on the day, but this wasn't an issue. Service on the day was fantastic, and they'd kindly put us in what I think must have been the old bank vault, so it felt like a private dining room, which was really appreciated for those needing to breast feed. It's a beautifully decorated space, with lots of character. Food was tasty, and there was a nice varied menu to choose from. All food and drink arrived swiftly, and the option for one of our group to swap to vegan cheese in her burger was a pleasant surprise, being newly dairy free. I really feel we lucked out choosing here to meet and eat, and I'm sure we'll be back. A special thank you to the young lady that served us yesterday, I'm so sorry I didn't catch your name, but what an asset to the business you are. Thank you for accommodating us all!
Went to try Residence on their opening day. Free coffee for the first 3 days was a nice touch. On a normal day it's £4.50 for an oat latte which is expensive, however the coffee was lovely and it was large and strong. My food was a bit disappointing. I got the Residence Hash. The veggies, tomato sauce and potatoes were unfortunately all quite bland. Would be improved with some paprika, garlic, herbs for example. The halloumi was a bit sad and soggy. The presentation undersells the portion size, it's a good portion. I passed on the seasoning feedback to staff so hopefully it might improve. The staff were lovely and the cafe has a good atmosphere. Music not too loud, I think there was air con. My coffee and food arrived fairly quickly. I'd still like to come back as I'm very interested in the bottomless brunch.
Visited for brunch today and more than met expectations. Good choice of savoury and sweet including Residence specials and vegetarian options. We were tempted by several but opted for omelette with 3 fillings and Residence Rancheros and arrived promptly. Good sized portions and very tasty. Coffees also very good. Ambience very relaxed with a variety of seating types and obviously appealing across the age spectrum and justifiably busy. Staff all welcoming, friendly, helpful and attentive without being intrusive. Definitely recommend and will return.
Have been here twice now and both times had great experience. Once during their opening week and again a couple of months later. First time had to wait for a table, second time got sat straight away. Coffee is very good and pancakes are very filling! Could probably share 1 stack of pancakes between two.
