Known to locals as the tramstation car park because it was a terminus for trams back in the day. Since 10 February 2025 it’s not been free. Charges of £1 for 2 hours, £2.50 for 4 hours and £4 for 12 hours have been introduced.
Fine car park but too small for the number of visitors it sees on an average weekend/bank holiday sort of day - it was packed when I arrived and had to wait almost half an hour for a space. People parked on the sidewalk and in spaces that didn’t really exist too! For once I might recommend losing some of the surrounding parkland to make a larger car park
Excellent car park – well-lit, clean, and well-organised. More importantly, it's free!
Now charging £80 a year to park here which is around a 4% increase on the council tax I already pay. What was a nice family visit is now another cost burden.
Was free till this year, council will do anything to get a few extra quid out of people
