Taken me ages to write this as I hate to leave bad reviews but it was truly awful. Most painful wax I've ever had. Not sure if they use a different type of wax than I'm used to, but I was thinking of calling it off even at the calves, it was truly agonising. I was terrified for my labia, felt like they were sustaining genuine harm. If I had been raised to be more outspoken, I would have stopped the wax and just gone home. I kept thinking I need to stop this before she causes a serious issue, but I didn't dare speak up. I did mention a few times that it was a lot more pain than I was used to with other waxes, I guess that was my subtle way of seeing if she would offer to stop, but I should have been a lot more direct. My intimate area was covered in swelling and bruising for days after, not ideal for a holiday. It looked beaten up and abused. I ended up getting folliculitis all over my bum cheeks and legs, had to rush and find a pharmacist who would sell me antibiotic ointment. My hair was long but I did ask if I ought to shorten it to an appropriate length, was told no. It's put me off getting waxed, I can't see myself daring to do it again. I've never had an issue before, but I don't want to risk harming my body like this again. Sorry to write a bad review but this cost me so much stress and worry, what with going away covered in infected folliculitis and bruises, and I just need to offer my perspective. I did take photos but obviously can't add them due to the intimate nature, but trust, it was quite horrifying. Also another thing I felt quite rushed and ended up with a different wax to the one I had intended on getting when I went in, which was a little disappointing but not the end of the world. I think she just presumed I wanted the most popular one.
Eyebrows their way. Was looking for a new salon for eyebrows, sadly Inches was not it. When I tried to explain what I wanted and liked, the owner (who was doing my eyebrows) talked all over me and didn't listen. When I asked for a mirror so I could explain, her response was "I don't have a mirror". I was trying to explain that I liked them to be straight rather than arched and was waiting for the hair to grow back. I also said I liked them thin at the ends. Her advice was not to go thin at the ends as it would thin them out (my eyebrows, so if I want them thin, that's my choice). It took a while for her to do them and then she lathered over some white stuff and asked me to take a look in the mirror in the reception area. Why you'd put your clients through the humiliation of looking at their lathered eyebrows in public view is beyond me. She had done exactly the opposite of what I asked....arched and thick at the end. She also started waxing areas of my chin without asking! Finally, she spent time telling me why hot wax was not good...I've been hot waxing my bikini area for 15+ years, and it works for me. It seems this is not a salon that is evolving with the times. My advice: you should always listen to your clients and try and do what they ask, rather than what you want.
I highly recommend this salon and especially their waxing specialist, Anna! I'd never had full body waxing done professionally before but decided to treat myself now that lockdown is finally lifting. Anna totally put me at ease, I hardly felt a thing, and I'm just loving the silky smoothness. So much better than shaving and creams! She’s so chatty too, which I really liked. The clinic is very welcoming and friendly too and the prices are very reasonable, especially for the city centre.
Michelle is amazing. Waxes thoroughly and professionally. As a male I don't want to look over-groomed but Michelle finds the right balance and I pay a fair and ethical price So many salons are over-priced and rip you off but not this one. I reccomend this place, no complaints.
Best in Leeds, hands down. Inches have looked after me and my friends since we were in high school. 9 years later and they have never disappointed us. I wouldn't dare go anywhere else, we are well looked after by Michelle and Natalie. No judgement at all, just care and love within the salon.
