I have been with this dental practice since the time of Mr Vipond. It has gone through a number of changes over the years notably the move from an NHS dentist to a mixed NHS and private practice. It sometimes feels to me they may operate a two tier system which may be more favourable towards private patients and has left me on more than one occasion dissatisfied. Over the last 6 months I have experienced a level of disappointment with the service. If a patient is 7 minutes late the computer system cancels the appointment regardless of reason and there is no way for the staff to override this, the explanation is they have other patients to see and there is no flexibility (I can only speak for paying NHS patients which is the category I fall into). However, if a patient arrives on time and has to wait there appears to be no consideration for the patient’s time, plans or work commitments. Today I arrived for an appointment and was seen 26 minutes late. This was not a routine appointment so I had allocated 45 minutes for the appointment during a working day. I raised my concerns about the delay with the reception staff and dentist as I was needed back at work. They apologised said they were busy and suggested I reschedule. I asked if they could see me later that day instead but that was not an option so to avoid having to come back I got a colleague to pick up my next appointment so I could complete the treatment before returning to work. At no point did anyone come into the waiting area to advise patients the appointments were significantly behind schedule. It was me that approached the receptionist after waiting 20 minutes for information. My 1 star rating is related to poor communication, an apparent inequity in their service delivery; they are happy to cancel an appointment if someone is 7 minutes late yet appear to have little concern or respect for patients called in late to appointments leaving them waiting without updating them even though reception staff are seated in an open office next to the waiting area. To finish on a positive the dental treatment I received today is of a good standard and the staff are pleasant and professional.
I always receive a first class experience from my dentist, Abrar Abulula. She is highly skilled and provides gentle care and valued advice. All staff are friendly and helpful. I would highly recommend Street Lane Dental Centre.
Currently a private patient on a payment plan which includes yearly xray and x2 yearly dental clean and hygienest appointments. Being private makes a big difference. I get more appointment availability. I've had amazing dentists Temi and now Jaime. I'm already conscious of my teeth but they make me fill at ease and always give the best advice. I never leave feeling guilty or pressured. I've had Root canals, crowns, fillings, teeth whitening treatment, tooth abcess treatment etc and each time I've had excellent care. Im now more confident with my smile. The receptionist staff are welcoming and always greet with a warm smile. The dental nurses are also lovely. Can't fault the practise and highly recommend their services.
The dentist I saw today was so lovely. I was nervous seeing someone new as I do get nervous at the dentist but she was so welcoming and looked after me and my two kids. Look forward to our next appointment
I was disappointed with my experience today. I was initially told my treatment cost would be £940 with no hidden fees, interest-free for 12 months. After paying for my consultation I was suddenly informed of an additional £70 charge. This information should have been made clear from the start to avoid misunderstanding. The staffs were polite but lack of transparency about price before I agree to the service was disappointing and affected my trust in your service. Have I been told from the beginning, I might have made a different decision.
