Update: Photos attached is the correspondence WhB sent my parents today, via email. You should be ashamed - taking advantage of pensioners ******* One star is a joke and there should be a negative scale for a dishonest bunch of people who strung along my dad (82) and mum (76) for over a week after taking a holding deposit of £196 to get a rental off the market. My parents agreed to the demand for an upfront payment of 6 months rent (previously 12m) i.e. £5,100 + a deposit of £784 (net £196 already paid) but it soon became apparent the landlord and agent wanted more, based on the agents inability to give an honest response whenever we did speak to him or he returned our calls. It became apparent the agent and landlord wanted a full years rent. Because the closer we got to the expected move day (post ref, signing the contract etc.), we’d call the agent for an update. The agent was usually unavailable or off sick and when we did get to speak, the agent would tell us the landlord needs to “check or consider something” - and that was the blanket response from the agent for days until the expected move date. My parents were misled by an agent from William H Brown + the landlord, and put in a difficult position where they were forced to withdraw from the deal. Consequently, they’ve lost £196 of their pension money because the terms of refund don’t cover professional ethics and are weighed in favour of the agent/landlord. This is not the first time something like this has happened with/because of William H Brown. One of the tenancy deposit schemes has the info. Be wary. *********** Couldn't go any lower than one star, unfortunately. Worst experience dealing with William H Brown and Sequence. Their processes are not upto speed and someone needs to report this. They've magically pulled out bogus information about our right to rent on the 16th June (which is incorrect) and irrelevant as we vacated the property on the 29th of April. Additionally, as someone who paid a years worth of rent in advance (and only stayed there for 10 months), they've done nothing but harass us throughout the tenancy.

We have been through a property purchase and the service received by Charlie O'Hara from Sequence was absolutely exceptional. She guided us through each detail, listened our needs and supported our decision making us definitely comfortable. Responsiveness, wide knowledge and kindness are the most appreciated qualities. We are paying for this portal. Rubbish. We have exchanged contracts this afternoon. No ticks for We are ready waiting for sellers solicitor. No tick to state contracts exchanged. Don't bother with this. Waste of money! So better to go old fashioned and call solicitor etc
