Gilchrist Bakery

Ive been using this shop your many many years. Today I called in for a bacon sandwich I asked could I have well done sandwich and a peace of cake. The girl that served me the cake picked it up with her hand and went in the wipe he runny nose with the back of her hand after putting the cake in the bag. When I left the shop I opened my sandwich which was all but raw. Terrible just terrible. The two girls that we're serving had no interest in me just taking about there personal life's. This has now left me not being able to use my local bakers after many years.

Gilchrist bakery is a family run business that make fresh sandwiches and bread and cakes on a daily basis. The staff are extremely friendly, the food is excellent quality and great value for money. I would highly recommend paying them a visit if you are in the area, the sandwiches are massive and very tasty. Ask for a large sandwich, you won't be disappointed.

Asked for 3 small pork pies. Was quite surprised to be asked for £8.25! So they were £2.75 each. Quite pricey considering other small butcher’s / bakeries charge around £1.50-£2 per pie. The price was not clearly marked on the main board or next to the pies either, was on a small separate board above the back door. I don’t like leaving low score reviews for small businesses but at these prices, I wouldn’t go back.

The BEST cheese salad sandwich I've had for a long time. The Cucumbers & tomatoes aren't see through, plenty of lettuce,cheese & onions. I wish I knew about Gilchrist earlier. Thank you for a top quality delicious sandwich.

Love this place! Bread is great and they can slice for you Had plenty breakfast butties here too that have been great The sausage rolls and pork pies are always a winner
